What is Eventify?
A solution that simplifies discovery of professional events such as meetups, conferences, and seminars while creating meaningful networking opportunities to support professional growth.
While browsing LinkedIn, I noticed frequent posts about people attending professional events. However, when searching online, I struggled to find a platform for easy event exploration. Conversations with peers revealed that many professionals faced the same challenge.

Despite the presence of various event platforms, discovering relevant events and building connections still remains a friction point for professionals.

Learning about the competitors and their offerings
I began by researching the current market through competitive analysis, evaluating existing event listing platforms’ solutions and uncovering user needs they fail to address.

To gain a deeper understanding, I interviewed 5 frequent event attendees and surveyed 30 others to uncover their needs, expectations, and challenges with finding and participating professional events.

EXPLORING POSSIBILITIES
Ideating over the solution
With the key problems identified, I began ideating solutions by outlining features that would help users search for events, connect with attendees and organizers, and make informed decisions.
This process evolved into sketching initial design concepts for each screen and creation of high-fidelity wireframes with a refined user flow.

USABILITY TESTING
Testing the design solutions
Using the high-fidelity wireframes, I conducted a usability test with six participants, asking them to navigate the new experience. The goal was to evaluate whether Eventify addressed the identified challenges effectively.

ITERATING DESIGN
Iterating on the feedback
Following usability testing, I identified key areas for improvement. Here are the iterations made based on participants' feedback:

Before
The attendee list displayed only names and taglines, which limited user engagement. Participants highlighted the need for direct interaction options.

After
"Connect" and "Message" buttons were added next to each attendee, enabling immediate and seamless engagement.

Before
The “Contact” and “Website” links for organizers were hidden under the kebab menu, which users found difficult to locate.

After
Dedicated “Contact” and “Website” buttons were placed below the event description, improving accessibility and visibility.

Before
The initial design featured a single recommended section with event cards tagged as "Popular" or "Filling Fast," which users found visually cluttered.

After
A separate "Popular" section was introduced, simplifying navigation and making it easier for users to discover trending events.
DESIGN SYSTEM
Foundation of Eventify’s Design
Using the atomic design principle, I developed a comprehensive design system to ensure a cohesive, consistent, and scalable interface architecture for Eventify.

Setting up the account
A streamlined onboarding process enables users to quickly select their fields of interest and preferred locations, allowing for personalized and relevant event recommendations.
Exploring events
Users can browse a diverse range of events tailored to their interests. They can search by keywords, locations, or categories (online or within India), and can save or share events.
Registration and payment
The app provides comprehensive event details, including contact details and support. Users can preview attendee list, connect and send messages. Registration and payment are handled directly through the platform.
Connecting with the attendees
Users can view the event attendee list, explore their Eventify profiles, and connect by sending requests, enabling seamless networking and meaningful engagement at events.
Network, Calendar, Profile and Notifications
The “Network” allows users to send and receive networking requests while managing their connections.
The built-in “Calendar” helps users stay organized by tracking event schedules.
The “Profile” displays users' interests, past events, and professional experience.
The “Notification” reminds and notifies users about event and its updates.
FEEDBACK
Positive feedback on the new experience
Upon completing of Eventify 1.0, I invited my connections, who frequently attend professional events, to explore the platform. To my delight, their feedback was overwhelmingly positive and encouraging.

RETROPECTIVE
Reflection on the project outcome
As the first step in building a comprehensive product, this project challenged and rewarded me equally. Reflecting on the journey, I am inspired by the depth of learning and insights gained along the way.
Shifting perspectives through research
Starting the project with problem I personally encountered, I held assumptions about the problem space. Through thorough research and prioritizing user insights, I shifted my perspective and developed solutions that effectively addressed real user needs.
Balancing excellence and practicality
Driven by the vision of building a strong foundation, I pursued perfection, leading to revisions. Embracing flexibility taught me to balance high standards with practicality, enabling progress without compromising quality.
